Swimming: Douglas High wins boys, girls High Desert League titles

It was close, but the Douglas High school swimming program managed to keep its impressive, if not spectacular, streaks intact Saturday afternoon at the Carson Aquatic Center. The Douglas girls squad won its seventh consecutive league title and the Tiger boys racked up their fifth straight league title at the High Desert League Championships. The girls team edged out Galena 438-435.5, while Carson was third and Spanish Springs was fourth. The Tiger boys snuck past Reno 442-439, with Carson again taking third and McQueen finishing fourth.
