Federal officials conduct crash investigation

A Cessna 182 that crashed in the Pine Nut Mountains, killing its two occupants, is being examined by federal investigators to discover what happened. The plane was piloted by Reno resident Cory Marble, 30, whose passenger was part-time Sunridge resident Brittney Hocking-Cangemi, 21. According to a preliminary report issued by the National Transportation Safety Board, the pair left North Las Vegas Airport at 6 p.m. April 14 heading for Minden-Tahoe Airport, to drop off Hocking-Cangemi. No flight plan was filed. The crash occurred at 8:50 p.m. near Bald Mountain, northeast of Double Spring Flat, about 200 feet below the ridgeline. …
