Fish, boats ready for opening day onslaught

Half a million pounds of trout are waiting for the opening of fishing season in Mono County on Saturday. That’s how much trout the California Department of Fish & Game has stocked in Sierra streams and lakes in preparation for opening day. The Mono County Sheriff’s Office is also preparing for opening day, which is a busy one on the water.
