Suspect in 100-mph-chase waives extradition

A 53-year-old man, who led officers on a 100-mph chase through two states, waived extradition Wednesday to return to California to face felony charges.

Steven Lindsey appeared Wednesday before East Fork Justice Pro Tem Paul Gilbert, and said he wanted to go back to California.

Lindsey’s attorney, Derrick Lopez, said if California charges him with felony eluding — the same crime he faces in Nevada — he won’t be prosecuted here.

Gilbert gave California officials until noon Friday to pick up Lindsey, who was being held in Douglas County Jail on $50,000 bail.
