The R-C Morning Report for March 29

Unemployment drops

Douglas County saw an increase in the number of workers and a decrease in the jobless rate in February. In all 18,610 people were employed in the county up 210 from January, while unemployment dropped 130 people to 2,340 making the jobless rate 11.2 percent in the county, down from 11.8 percent in January.

Happy Good Friday

It’s good Friday, which means that Sunday is Easter. It’s also the last day of school for a week as Douglas County enters spring break. Watch out for kids around the parks next week.

Cloudy, on the ground

For a day when it’s supposed to be rainy, the only cloud is the one pinned to the Valley floor, and that’s burning off pretty quick. There’s supposed to be more coming, with a chance of snow snarling the passes on Sunday. We’ll see how that goes.

Rainy Easter weekend

Today expect a high temperature of 66 and clouds moving in tonight. The low pressure system is moving in slow, so it doesn’t appear like we’ll have a lot of wind this weekend, but we could see about a fifth of an inch of rain on Sunday.
