Snow snarling Kingsbury, Tahoe schools on hour delay

Snow on Kingsbury Grade and Spooner Summit have resulted in several vehicles being stranded and a few minor accidents.
The Nevada Highway Patrol reports two accidents on Highway 50 near the summit, one at 7 a.m. and another at 7:47 a.m.
Douglas County deputies report several stranded vehicles on Kingsbury Grade, snarling traffic.
Zephyr Cove Elementary and Whittell High will open an hour later due to the snow at Lake Tahoe.
Chains or snow tires are required over the top of Kingsbury Grade and in Stateline this morning as western Douglas County continues under a winter weather advisory.
According to the National Weather Service, 6 inches of snow fell at Fallen Leaf Lake. More than an inch of snow fell in Carson Valley overnight.
The road temperature for Highway 395 in Minden is 38 degrees, according to the sensor at the NDOT station, so expect the highway to be wet, but not quite frozen.
