The R-C Morning Report for Oct. 28

Kyle R. Jarboe faces an arraignment and the accusation of probation violations in two different 2011 cases in Douglas County District Court this morning. Jarboe’s latest troubles stem from an Aug. 16 arrest for trafficking in a controlled substance, and possession of a controlled substance for sale. He was convicted of sales of a controlled substance in 2011.

With slightly more than an inch of snow in the Valley, you can bet Kingsbury’s a mess this morning. Chains or snow tires are required over the top. Zephyr Cove Elementary and Whittell High will open an hour later due to the snow at Lake Tahoe.

There’s slightly more than an inch of snow on my vehicle this morning, which translates into .06 inches of moisture. The road temperature for Highway 395 in Minden is 38 degrees, so expect it to be wet, but perhaps not quite frozen.

A winter weather advisory is in effect for Carson Valley through noon today, though we may have already received the brunt of our moisture from this storm. Expect rain or snow showers before noon, with the wind out of the west at 5-15 mph, gusting to 25 mph. The high today is forecast to hit 47 degrees.
