Thursday outage affects Valley

A downed wire at Centerville Lane and Highway 88 on Thursday night knocked power out to 2,387 NV Energy customers in Gardnerville and Minden.

The outage started at 9:37 p.m. and was electricity was out for most residents until 11:30 p.m., NV Energy Spokesman Karl Walquist said.

Walquist said an earlier time was incorrect.

“The crew was able to switch to an alternate circuit and restored most customers,” he said.

All but three customers on Centerville Lane were back on by 11:25 p.m. The rest were on by 2:21 a.m.
