The RC Morning Report for Sept. 3

Genoans will discuss the 2014 Genoa Cowboy Festival tonight, and discuss appointing a representative to the Nevada Sesquicentennial committee to develop a Genoa event. Board members will also discuss setting a special meeting three days before Candy Dance to interview final candidates for the town manager’s position. The Genoa Town Board meets 6:30 p.m. today.

Gardnerville Town Board members will discuss reclassifying an engineering technician position to a civil engineer to help back up Town Manager Tom Dallaire, who has served as the town engineer since he was hired to his position. The town board meets at 4:30 p.m. and is expected to be done quickly.

A 25-year-old Carson City woman with a yen for Dyson vacuum cleaners is scheduled to appear in Douglas County District Court this morning for a probation violation. Serena Skdlarek was to participate in a Washoe County diversion program after she was accused of taking the expensive cleaning appliances from Targets in Sparks and Indian Hills.

Expect the smoke to continue through today, with a chance of showers or thunderstorms, and a high temperature of 84 degrees.
