Woman sent to prison for probation violation

Probation was revoked Monday for a 45-year-old Gardnerville woman who was kicked out of a transitional living program for a rules violation.

District Judge Michael Gibbons ordered Shannon Sunderland to serve her sentence of three years in Nevada state prison for possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine.

According to a parole violation report, Sunderland was ordered to leave the Step II program in Reno because she smoked a cigarette in violation of regulations which forbid alcohol, controlled substances and nicotine.
