Time to take action
December 20, 2012
I am a gun owner and enjoy the freedom I have to use my weapons responsibly. However, I do not own an assault weapon and can not comprehend the need for anyone to own one outside of our military. We have now endured another senseless tragedy which has, incomprehensibly, resulted in the deaths of 20 innocent children. Indeed, it appears to have once again been at the hands of a deranged individual. But, with the use of an assault weapon.
We must stop this madness. I have no fear that an assault weapons ban would in any way compromise our 2nd amendment rights, and I fully understand that the issue is much broader than just reasonable gun control. But we must take action. I implore everyone to write your elected officials and demand swift action to seek an assault weapons ban in the name of your children and the 20 angels of Newtown.
