Stars of Tomorrow competition applications due Tuesday

The annual Kiwanis Club of Carson Valley “Stars of Tomorrow” talent competition is 5 p.m. May 13, in the CVIC Hall in Minden.
The first place scholarship in this competition will be $1,250; second place scholarship will be $750, third place $500, and fourth place $250. There will also be a peoples’ choice award for $250.
Applicants will be judged on technical difficulty, technical execution, and audience appeal. The competition will be open to performing artists currently enrolled in grades 9 through 12 in Carson Valley, including home schooled students in the Douglas County School system outside of Lake Tahoe.
Applications and copies of the contest rules will be available from many area performing arts instructors or can be requested from Ann Delahay online by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org, and referencing Stars of Tomorrow in the subject line. Applications must be submitted no later than Tuesday. Auditions will be held 6:30 p.m. April 26 at Carson Valley United Methodist Church, 1375 Centerville Lane in Gardnerville, and 10 a.m. April 28 at All About Dance,1617 Water Street in Minden.
Students planning to compete must be available for technical rehearsal 5 p.m. May 13 in the CVIC Hall in Minden.
