Savor the Flavor wine tasting benefits women and children

Soroptimist International of Carson Valley is hosting its 18th annual Savor the Flavor wine tasting Feb. 2.The tasting runs from 6 until 9 p.m. at the Carson Valley Inn in Minden. “This annual fundraising event, which has been a favorite of many Carson Valley residents for nearly 20 years, raises money to support women’s and children’s causes in our local community,” organizers said in a press release. “This year, the Soroptimists are pleased to be holding their event for the first time in banquet facilities at the Carson Valley Inn.” Presented with a Valentine’s Day theme, Savor the Flavor features wine tasting, beer tasting, gourmet food from some of the area’s finest restaurants and caterers, and a silent auction. Tickets are available for $35 in advance or $40 at the door, and can be purchased at Nevada State Bank, US Bank, Aloha Liquor, Battleborn Wine, Remax Realty, Holiday Inn Express, Valley Eyecare & Eyewear Gallery, Carson Valley Chamber of Commerce, Minden Meat and Deli or by emailing, “SICV wishes to thank their generous sponsors for helping to make this event possible: Carson Valley Medical Center, GE, McDermid Management Company, Nevada State Bank and US Bank,” organizers said.SICV meets each Tuesday at noon at the Carson Valley Inn.
