Teen DanceTeen dance for grades 6th–8th will include DJ music and food. Dance is held at the Fairgrounds building from 6:30–9 p.m. Friday. Cost is $10 and includes a slice of pizza and a soda or water. All school rules will apply including dance and dress code.Improv ComedyStudents will learn theater games and improvised scenes. Individual attention will be given to each student’s skill level. Class for ages 7–17 are 4-6 p.m. Mondays and Tuesdays, Nov. 19–27, and for adults 6-8:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, Nov. 6–15 at the recreation annex building. Cost is $65. Beginners Ballroom DancingLearn and practice the fundamentals of the fox trot, swing, Waltz and many Latin dances. Class held 7:30-8:30 p.m. Fridays, Nov. 2–30 at the Dance Workshop. Cost is $80 a couple or $45 for single.The Happiest Babyon the BlockLearn an approach to keeping your baby happy in this step-by-step how to help your baby sleep better and how to soothe a fussy baby. Class is held 9 a.m.-noon, Nov. 10 at the recreation annex building. Cost is $30. Historical FencingIn this class for ages 13 and up students will learn the basic techniques of renaissance swordsmanship. Class will be 7-9 p.m. Wednesdays, Nov. 7-26 at Carson Valley Middle School. Cost is $15. Ditch the DietThis informative class for ages 13 and up is designed to teach the benefits of blood sugar stabilization and its role in achieving life long weight management and optimal health. Class will be 9 a.m.-noon, Nov. 17 at the recreation annex building. Class is $20.Concealed Weapon CertificationThis course will cover the requirements for Nevada State CCW and can be taken by CCW applicants or anyone wanting to learn to shoot handguns. Class will be 6-9:30 p.m., Nov. 14 and 16 at the Recreation Annex building and 8-11 a.m. Nov. 17 at Douglas County Shooting Range. Cost is $90 plus an additional $10 insurance fee payable to the instructor. Spouses are half price.Beginner’s Tai ChiLearn this soft martial arts form that will include warm ups, exercises and repetitions. Class will be held Saturdays and is on going. Cost is $5 per month. Scrapbook All-Day CropThis is the perfect opportunity for family photo historians to start a book or get a project finished. This workshop will be held 10 a.m.-10 p.m. Nov. 11 at the Senior Center. Cost is $25, water and snacks are included.Dog ObedienceLearn to establish good conduct and curb bad habits and help you teach basic commands. Class held 7-8 p.m. Wednesdays, Nov. 7–Dec. 12 at the Carson Valley Middle School. Cost is $80Pre-registration is required for all classes.
