Baby TunesThis introductory dance class for ages 2–3 will include ballet and creative movement while learning the basic steps and how to follow directions. Class held 5-5:30 p.m. Mondays, Oct. 8–29 or 9:30-10 a.m. Tuesdays, Oct. 2–23. Cost is $30.Draw Comics and MangaIn this class for ages 7 and up students will learn to draw and illustrate their favorite characters using shape line, color and imagination. Class held 5:30-7:30 p.m. Oct. 1–4 at the recreation annex building. Cost is $35.Making Sense of RetirementJoin this educational seminar to help you get and stay on track regardless of your current situation. Class will be 1:30-3:30 p.m. Oct. 2, 4:30-6:30 p.m. Oct. 10 or 5:30-7:30 p.m. Oct. 18. Cost is $10 per class. Beginners Ballroom DancingLearn and practice the fundamentals of the Fox Trot, Swing, Waltz and many Latin dances. Class held 7:30-8:30 p.m. Fridays, Oct. 5–26 at the Dance Workshop. Cost is $80 a couple or $45 for single.The Happiest Baby on the BlockAre you ready to be a parent? Learn how to help you baby sleep better and how to soothe a fussy baby. Class is 9 a.m.-noon Oct. 20 at the recreation annex building. Cost is $30. Historical FencingIn this class for ages 13 and up students will learn the basic techniques of renaissance swordsmanship. Class will be 7-9 p.m. Wednesdays, Oct. 7- 24 at Carson Valley Middle School. Cost is $20. Ditch the DietThis class for ages 13 and up is designed to teach the benefits of blood sugar stabilization and its role in achieving life long weight management and optimal health. Class will be 1-4 p.m. Oct. 13 at the recreation annex building. Class is $20.Concealed Weapon CertificationThis course will cover the requirements for Nevada State CCW and can be taken by CCW applicants or anyone wanting to learn to shoot handguns. Class will be 6-9:30 p.m. Oct. 17 and 19 at the Recreation Annex building and 8-11 a.m. Oct. 20 at Douglas County Shooting Range. Cost is $90 plus an additional $10 insurance fee payable to the instructor. Spouses are half price.Beginner’s Tai ChiLearn this soft martial arts form that will include warm ups, exercises and repetitions. Class will be Saturdays and is on going. Cost is $5 per month.
