Minden library sale offers half off all books
February 7, 2012
For the first time, the Douglas County Public Library in Minden is having a 50-percent-off books sale.
The sale started Monday and runs through Feb. 18 in the front lobby of the library.
“We get so many books donated that we don’t have room for them all, so we have these sales to try and get rid of them all,” said Maria Pearson, senior library technician.
The mini sale consists of a few hundred paperbacks, hardbacks, fiction, nonfiction and children’s books.
“Some of them were donated by patrons who bought them and never read them,” Pearson said. “They’re all donated library books and are all in good condition.”
The proceeds are used to buy new books and supplies for the library.
Books that don’t get sold are donated to schools, hospitals and senior centers in the area.
The next mini sale is a paperback, audio and video sale in April.
The Minden branch of the library is located at 1625 Library Lane. Hours are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Wednesday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.
