Methodist church hosts Christmas music program

The Chancel Choir of Carson Valley United Methodist Church is presenting its annual Christmas music program 7 p.m., Sunday.

This year’s program is a Celebration of Carols by Joseph M. Martin, a service of nine scripture lessons and carols in the Anglican tradition.

The work is comprised of original compositions and arrangements of familiar carols that trace the preparation for and celebration of the coming of Christ.

At the beginning and end of the service, the congregation will have an opportunity to join in singing several familiar carols.

Pete Nelson is the pastor and Steve Farnsley is the music director of Carson Valley United Methodist Church.

The church is located at 1375 Centerville Lane in Gardnerville. The program is free and open to the public.
