Historical society benefits from Oct. 14 pig races

During the Corley Ranch pig races Oct. 14, the Douglas County Historical Society will receive the funds from participating guests. Races are held at noon, 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. Participating pigs are: Pumpkin 1, Bacon, Charlotte and Wilbur. Guests purchase “I hope You Win” slips for $1, and place them in bucket of their favorite pig. When the race is over, one ticket will be drawn from “14-Years-&-Under” bucket and one from “Adult” bucket of which ever pig won. Winners will receive gift certificates. The Corley Ranch is located south of Gardnerville on Highway 395. For more information, call 782-2555.
