Basket display at the library through October

The Douglas County Public Library is featuring a display of beautiful baskets crafted by the Great Basin Basketmakers through the month of October.

Materials used for weaving include pine needles, reeds, rope, yarn, painted paper, felted wool, and gourds.

Great Basin Basketmakers’ members create a variety of traditional and contemporary baskets.

They learn everything possible about the traditions and techniques of basketry and pass this knowledge on to others.

For more information, visit their website at greatbasinbasketmakers.org.

The Douglas County Public Library is located at 1625 Library Lane in Minden.
