DragoSalon hosts benefit for Elisa Storke

DragoSalon is hosting “Cuts for a Cause,” 10 a.m.-4 p.m., Feb. 9, as a fundraiser to benefit the family of Elisa Storke who is undergoing cancer treatment.

Salon director Drago Dimitri and a half dozen stylists will be available to offer haircuts and styles for a minimum donation of $20.

Salon coordinator Laurie Hayes said Elisa Storke’s mother-in-law, Sandy Storke, is a long-time patron, and the salon wanted to do something for Elisa and Jon Storke who live in Reno with their nine-month-old son Dylan.

Jon Storke is an investigator with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office and a Douglas High School graduate.

“It’s a family thing,” Hayes said.

Walk-ins are welcome, and people are invited to drop off donations as well.

Hayes said Dimitri and the staff are donating their time, and all the proceeds would go to the Storkes to assist with expenses as Elisa battles stage 4 metastatic melanoma.

The salon is at 1667 Highway 395, Minden. Information, 782-5909.
