Thanks for the support

As I sit and write this, my heart is overcome with both sorrow and warmth.

This last week since a fire broke out and destroyed a home and legacy, the outpouring of support has been nothing shy of astonishing.

First and foremost, I need to thank “my team,” blood-related or not, I am honored to call these folks my family.

Jim Richardson (my dad and rock), Connie Richardson, Chris Begovich, Butch Begovich, Connie Boyd, Derek Castro, Cristy Menzer, Travis McCalla, Wes Robbins, Rosa Hoyt, Paul and April Wilson, Morgan Mcgill, and the Morgan family are some of the most wonderful people I have ever known and without them I would have been lost. I love you all more than you will ever know.

I also need to thank East Fork Fire & Paramedic Districts and Douglas County Sheriff’s Office. There are several people from these two agencies that deserve a huge thank-you for everything they have done. Those are, Capt. Terry Taylor, Duty Chief Tim Soule, Battalion Chief Ron Haskins, Sgt. Dan Coverly, Sgt. Jim Halsey, Deputy Jesse McKone, Deputy Joel Kruger, Deputy John Preston, Deputy Less Vido. My greatest respect and gratitude to you. The outpouring of support has been and continues to be incredible.

Also a special thank-you to Douglas County Search and Rescue, Nevada and California highway patrols, Mono County Sheriffs Office, Connie Richardson, Nicolette Begovich, Darlene Begovich, Peter and Melinda Knight, Will Post, Julie Merrill, Karen Stalker, Mick Jadlowski, Kelly Connolly, Joe stella, Barbara and Colleen Campbell,Brice and Kim Lister, Janet Gookin, Jolie McDuffee, Rhonda Kudrna, and their group of wonderful women.

I’m sure that I have missed a few and my apologies.

At this time I ask everyone to please pray for both my mom and Gordon to be well.

The fire is a tragic event and caused much devastation and loss. Some of which can never be replaced but the importance lays solely with love and support for mom and Gordon as they recover and rebuild. My mom fighting pneumonia and Gordon fighting cancer. Again, my most sincere gratitude to all. God Bless.

Mary Smith
