Ed Foundation seeks new members

The Douglas County Education Foundation’s mission is to enrich and elevate the educational experience of Douglas County students by providing curriculum enhancement grants to educators, and to recognize the extraordinary work of the “Teacher of the Year” annually from each school.

The Foundation meets quarterly and hosts two fundraising events each year — “Run Ed Run” and the “Teacher of the Year” events in order to better the community in which we serve. Each of these events has had great success through the years due to the wonderful support of the community, but the Foundation needs help.

The Education Foundation is in need of new volunteers who are willing to allocate roughly 12 hours a year to the Foundation to continue its success! We are looking for members of the business community that can provide a good perspective on how to better interact with the integral businesses in Douglas County.

Please visit web site at to learn more regarding the Foundation that has been supporting our schools for more than 30 years. Or contact Kari Karwoski at 775-265-0389 or myself at 775-790-6969.

We are very grateful for the support the Foundation has received over the years from our community and look forward to continuing to serve the Douglas Country for many years to come.
