We are very pleased with the response from our Douglas County community to our new spay and neuter voucher program: DAWG’S Fix-a-family Pet — Spay and Neuter Program for Dogs and Cats.
We are very grateful to the commissioners for awarding DAWG a grant which will give us the opportunity to help Douglas County pet owners spay and neuter their cats and dogs, which can help reduce the homeless animal population in our county.
Proof of Douglas County residency and low-income eligibility is required. DAWG has a special phone number for interested people to call: 775-364-0320.
The entire process from first the phone call to DAWG, to the pet’s appointment with a participating local vet can usually be done in about two weeks or less in most cases.
Please leave a call back phone number if our DAWG member is not available at the time you call.
The program’s funding will not last forever. So please call now if you or someone else needs a pet or pets spayed or neutered, www.dawgrescue.com.
