Keeping the band marching

Editor: Just prior to the start of the school year, the Douglas High School music director decided to accept a position out of the district. This left the music program at Douglas High School without an instructor. The school’s award winning marching band was scheduled to start their practice schedule when the director announced his departure. The band program was in danger of being cancelled until Pau-Wa-Lu Middle School Music Director, Tammy Owens, stepped up and adopted the Douglas High Marching Band.
