On behalf of the Douglas County Historical Society, I would like to thank all those great community minded individuals that starred in the Curse of the Hanging Tree. Too many to name individually, I would hate to miss anyone. This fundraiser would not be possible without their donation of time and talent. They all did a fabulous job from those involved in the bar scene, church, courtroom plus the local Sheriff’s Posse that changed sides for a couple of nights to become a terrific lynch mob.
We also want to thank the Town of Genoa for the church. It was a lovely setting for the funeral of Hans Anderson. The press and radio stations for the publicity, without them fundraisers like this would not be possible.
The most important thank-you is to all those who purchased tickets and attended the “Curse of the Hanging Tree.” Your support will help keep the doors of both museums open for locals and visitors.
The Douglas County Historical Society is self-supporting and fundraisers like the “Curse of the Hanging Tree” are a major source of our operating budget. Your continued support is greatly appreciated.
