Power back on in Sunridge after fire

A fire at Highway 395 and Sunridge near the Carson-Douglas county line knocked out power in the area for about an hour this afternoon.

Reportedly sparked by a transformer, the fire was reported at 2 p.m. today, and was quickly contained.

The power outage affected 921 NV Energy customers, according to NV Energy spokesman Calder Chism. The outage also affected the traffic signal at Highway 395 and Sunridge.

Chism said all power was restored 3 p.m.

No structures were damaged in the fire, and no one has been reported injured. Investigation continues as to the cause of the fire.
