Lions keep flags flying

The Carson Valley Lions Club will be soliciting businesses in June and July for one of its largest yearly fundraisers. Six times a year, weather permitting, the club puts out U.S. flags at a charge of $40 for all six occasions: Independence Day, Nevada Day, Veterans Day, Presidents Day, Memorial Day and Flag Day. The money earned goes back to Gardnerville and Minden causes. Some of our projects are Douglas County Historical Society, scholarships to Douglas High School students; eye exams and glasses for the needy, Girl Scouts, sponsoring Boy Scout Troop 411, Canine Companions, Meals on Wheels, Austin’s House, student speakers’ contest and, two summer camps for children. Businesses that wish to be contacted for flags can call Lion Ron Santi at (775) 315-2354
