Two arrested after fight

Two men were arrested Friday at a home in the 2600 block of Wildhorse after an altercation that involved a .40-caliber handgun, a BB gun and a 2x4-inch board.

Eric Mouritsen, 48, has been charged with aiming a firearm at a human being, a gross misdemeanor, and battery that constitutes domestic violence, a misdemeanor.

He posted $5,500 bail and is to appear in East Fork Justice Court at 8:30 a.m. today.

Benjamin Joseph Foraker, 33, is charged with battery with a deadly weapon, a felony, and destruction of property, a misdemeanor.

He is set for an afternoon court appearance today.

His bail is $28,637.

According to reports, Foraker’s mother and Mouritsen arrived home early from a camping trip, and found Foraker intoxicated in the garage.

He was staying at the residence.

Mouritsen reportedly struck Foraker in the shin with the board, and taunted him.

Mouritsen said Foraker was looking for something in the garage, and older man, fearing it might be a weapon, pulled his .40-caliber handgun from his truck.

He said Foraker shot him with a BB gun five times in the chest and shoulder.

Mouritsen reportedly pointed the handgun at Foraker, but decided not to shoot him, so he placed the weapon on the hood of his truck.

He then charged at Foraker and dropped him to the ground, wresting the BB gun from him. Mouritsen and his girlfriend reportedly took the weapons in the house, called 911, and locked Foraker out.

He came in through the garage, but Mouritsen reportedly physically removed him from the residence.

Foraker reportedly took a pair of garden shears and broke windows in the house and Mouritsen’s vehicle, according to reports.

Deputies said when they arrived, Foraker was intoxicated and bleeding from the head.
