Douglas officers join memorial run

Douglas County sheriff’s deputies will join their colleagues across the state today in participating in their leg of the 14th annual Nevada Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Run. As of 9 a.m., the runners were at Leviathan Mine Road. They’re expected to begin the final leg of the run through Douglas 11:15 a.m. at Stephanie Way and Highway 395. Sgt. Pat Brooks said officers from several departments are participating in day seven of the annual run which covers nearly 450 miles across Nevada. Officers will take the baton from Highway 208 in Wellington, proceed west to Highway 395, and run north …
