The R-C Morning Report for May 12

A 36-year-old Yerington man faces up to 15 years in prison at sentencing this morning in Douglas County District Court for a second felony conviction of driving under the influence. Sergio Vargas-Ramirez was arrested after a traffic stop on Highway 395 at Toler Road in November 2012. His blood-alcohol content was .117, over the legal limit of .08 for driving in Nevada.

The snowpack at Ebbetts Pass dipped down to 0 on Saturday night and then came back up to an inch on Sunday. It will be gone again tonight, and with it pretty soon, surface irrigation water.

We had .15 inches of rain mixed with a little snow on Saturday and a pretty hefty frost on Sunday as winter made one last grasp at Carson Valley. It was 32 degrees out at my house this morning. The high temperature is supposed to climb to 72 today and hit 85 by Thursday.
