Great concerts

Over the past eight years I have been fortunate to attend many of the concerts presented by the Carson Valley Arts Council. The diversity of music styles has been outstanding. Types of music have included blues, folk, jazz, rock, classical, and the list goes on. Even with this impressive list in mind the Council may have outdone itself on their next upcoming show — “The Birds of Chicago.” The group is a duet out of the Chicago area that might be best described as edgy folk with an Americana slant. The concert will occur on 7 p.m. Feb. 28 at the CVIC Hall. The group has performed at many well known music festivals including the Strawberry Music Festival. For this show they will be arriving back to the states direct from a concert tour in the Netherlands. If you appreciate high quality live music in a small town setting then you have no further to look than this show presented by the Arts Council. Tickets and information are available at or call 775-782-8207.
