Obituary: George W. Stevens, Jr.

George W. Stevens, Jr. was born Oct. 13, 1929 in San Mateo, Calif. to parents, George Sr. and Kathryn “Sue” Stevens.
George, nickname “Kingfish” served in the US Army in 1948-49; semi-professional bowler for 20 years; became quite a “card shark” during his years dealing at Harvey’s Casino in Northshore and avid 49’er’s fan. His best buddy was his beloved dog, Wiggles who followed him everywhere.
George Stevens was preceded in death by his wife, Myrtle Stevens; and his son, Marc Carter Stevens. He is survived by his daughters, Marcia Stevens-Stipek, Valerie McDonald, and Dianna Van Middendorp; grandchildren, Christy McGuire, Tyler Stipek, Sarah Stipek Langan, Nathan Stevens Stipek, and Carly Stipek, Timothy Short, Robert Short, Dalton Riley and Rider McDonald and four great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held. And Interment was held at Eastside Memorial Park, Gardnerville, 12 p.m. on Tuesday Jan. 15. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in George’s name to the charity of your choice.
