Obituary: George Francis Jones

George Francis Jones was born Nov. 15, 1926 to Walter Dellamire Jones and Hulda Maria Holmberg in Los Angeles, Calif. George joined the Navy when he was 17 years old and delivered mail to the troops in the South Pacific. After the Navy George received a 2 year engineering degree from the University of California. He worked for Contel Telephone Company which he later retired from. George enjoyed woodworking and in his younger years golf. He was baptized a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Aug. 1983.
George was preceded in death by his parents, brother and sister, his first wife June Dorothy Larson Jones; and sons Kevin and Jeffrey Jones.
George is survived by his wife Helen Jones; 3 Daughters and their families. Daughter – Marcie Anne Jones (Eron) Grisham of Oakdale, Calif. and their children Todd Grisham; Tomie Anne (David) Britton with children Morgan Anne and D.J.; Jeffrey (Priscilla) Grisham with daughter Sophie. Daughter – Carol June Jones (John) Thomas of Tooele, Utah and their children Elise (Ed) Shutte; Jennifer (Aaron) Lund with son Cody; Kirsten Thomas. Daughter – Judy Francis Jones of Tooele, Utah. And grandchildren Joel and Kile Jones, Children of Kevin Jones.
George is also survived by two step sons and two step daughters and their families. Step Son – Harlow (Cindy) Norvell and their family Ryan Norvell; Keri (Perry) Lawson with children Tyler , Trevor, Spencer and Ryan; Melanie (Micah) Gill. Step Son – Wyatt Norvell (Mary). Step Daughter – Wanda (Darrell) Luce and their family David and Jonathon. Step Daughter – Belva (Ed) Tomany. As well as Nephew Steve Jones and step niece Jasmine Norvell (Tip) Thompson with son Ollie.
George will be greatly missed by all his family and
others who knew him. We Love you!
