Karen Louise Christopher passed away unexpectedly and peacefully on Friday, December 13, 2013.

Karen, a resident of Gardnerville, Nevada, was born in Gaylord, Michigan on November 12, 1963. She grew up in Gaylord, Michigan, graduating from Vanderbilt High School in 1981. She relocated to Santa Clara, California following graduation, where she worked as a travel consultant. She met her husband, Thomas Duane Christopher, and they were married on May 23, 1987 in Lake Tahoe, Nevada. They relocated to Fremont, California, then Antioch, California where their two children, Tayler and Claire were born. She was employed by Gardnerville Elementary School as a Special Education Aide until the time of her death. She had a deep devotion to the education of autistic

children.Karen was a member of High Sierra Fellowship Church in Minden, Nevada.She enjoyed hiking, snowshoeing, camping, walking her dogs, fitness activities, and shopping, but most important, she enjoyed spending time with her family.Karen was the cherished daughter to Walter "Tom" Goff, who preceded her in death, and is survived by her mother Patricia Ann Koronka Mead of Gaylord, MI. She is survived by her loving husband, Thomas Duane Christopher and her children Tayler Dalton and Claire Allyse. She is also survived by her dear sister and husband, Janet and Robert Pruitt of Gaylord, MI, 2 brothers and wives, Roger and Bridget Goff of Vanderbilt, MI, and Gregory and Mary Goff of Gaylord, MI, 7 nieces and nephews, 9 great-nieces and nephews. Karen is also survived by her mother-in-law, Annie M. Christopher of Sunnyvale, CA, brother-in-law and wife, Richard and Evelyn Christopher of Carefree, AZ, and sister-in-law and husband, Doris and Thomas Learn of Lutz, FL, 2 nephews, 2 great nephews, and 3 great-nieces.A Memorial Service will be held for Karen on Saturday, December 21, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in the High Sierra Fellowship Church, 1701 Lucerne Street, Minden, NV. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Karen's memory to FEAT of Carson Valley, P.O. Box 2274, Minden, NV 89423 to help families with children with autism.Final arrangements are entrusted to Waltons Funeral Homes.
