Gilbert Eugene Graham died peacefully in his sleep at his home at Topaz Lake on August 9, 2016.
Gil was born February 2, 1939, in Exeter, California to Lurrlie Bonner and Clyde Graham. Gil attended Sacramento High School and was a member of the Phi Theta Kappa Society while attending Western Nevada College.
Gil served in the USMC First Battalion, Platoon 1014 and the Civil Air Patrol performing search and rescue. He was an active member of the Community Emergency Response team (CERT) for Douglas County.
Gil was a member of the Chorus of the Comstock and Partner's in Harmony Barbershop Quartet for many years. He performed in The Bridgeport Players and the Western Nevada Musical Theater Company. He was an artist using oils, metal and material as his favorite media.
Gil enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, photography, reading, camping and RVing, playing guitar, competitive shooting, flying his Mooney airplane and driving his Eagle Talon. He also loved his
His greatest love was motorcycles and taking frequent day trips and lengthy summer trips with longtime friend Chuck, including one road trip to Alaska covering 9,000 miles.
Gil enjoyed hanging out with his many guy buddies including, but not limited to: Chuck, Don, Larry, Beto, Frank, John, Allen, Chris, Tom, James, Stan and Phil.
Gil's work history varied from Aerojet General; Nevada Department of Corrections; Mono County Probation and lastly managing the WIA program. Gil will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know him.
Gil was married to Pam for 23 years and is survived by daughters, Lurrlie, Heidi and Gina, step-children, Christian and Shannon, their spouses Candi and Allen, 12 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at St. Gall Catholic Church at 1343 Centerville Lane, Gardnerville, NV 89410 on Thursday, August 18, 2016 at 11:30 a.m. A celebration of life, & light lunch, will follow the service.
