The debt has already been paid

The problem is: humans are terrible, awful, bad and mean. We need to just look at the headlines and we can see the problem. People do not start out good, they start out bad. The Bible says in Romans 3:23, “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” And in Psalm 14:1, “The fool has said in his heart, ‘there is no God.’ They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none who does good.”

After we realize how bad man is, now we need to look at how good God is. The Bible tells us He alone in holy. In Isaiah 6:3 the angels declare, “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts; the whole earth is filled with His glory.” It also says in John 3:16 “for God so loved the world, that he gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” Not many of us would give our only son to save someone else. Next we need to see there is a price to pay for how bad we really are. Romans 6:23 states, “for the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life is Jesus Christ our Lord.” We can use the word sin to describe how bad we are because it describes exactly our position in relation to God. In Spanish it is even easier to understand, sin means without in Spanish, and it also means the same for us as humans. If we are in sin it means we are without God. What we deserve is death. And just because a sin is popular does not mean it is no longer a sin. Just because everybody accepts a sin does not make it OK.

So now we need to know that the payment needed has already been paid. Jesus Christ has paid by His death on the cross for all our sin. He did not ever sin in his life, not even once. But He took the punishment that we all deserved. And he wants us to realize and enjoy the payment He made and live a full life here and now. Romans 5:8, 9 “But God demonstrates His own love towards us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” All we need to do is in Romans 10:9-10, “that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” So if we understand the depravity of man, the goodness of God and the cost, we should believe in the Lord Jesus and his payment for the cost of our sins and be saved and enjoy the beginning of eternal life and not worry anymore about what happens when we die. And welcome into God’s kingdom if you just now believed and received eternal life. I have been in God’s kingdom for 38 years and no regrets about my giving my life to Christ.
