Commission meets today

Nevada’s new brand, “A world within, a state apart” will get a once over by Douglas County commissioners at their regular meeting at Stateline 1:30 p.m. today. Commissioners will also hear requests for letters for support for economic incentives for four new businesses proposing to move to the county.

Accident near Lee Vining

There’s a report of a traffic accident on Highway 395 just north of Lee Vining that occurred at 5:33 a.m. in the southbound lanes. There is no report on whether anyone’s hurt.

Thirsty Thursday

Thirsty Third Thursday walkers will be in downtown Gardnerville this evening starting at 4:30 p.m. The walk raises money for Main Street Gardnerville.

Might rain, though

Rain’s likely today, though there won’t be much more than a tenth of an inch in most places. Expect mostly cloudy skies with the wind 5-10 mph, increasing to 10-15 mph with gusts of up to 25 mph.
