Shredding in Minden

There’s not enough snow to shred on the hill, so the shredding party is coming to Carson Valley today when A.B.E. Printing and Copy sponsors free onsite paper shredding for Douglas residents and businesses in their parking lot at 1679 Highway 395 in Minden 2 p.m. today.

County manager on the commentary

Regent at Winery today

Nevada System of Higher Learning Regent Ron Knecht will be talking to Sierra Nevada Republican Women 11:30 a.m. today at the Tahoe Ridge Winery, Marketplace and Bistro in Minden. Lunch is at noon and costs $15.

Nice wet storm

I measured .35 inches of rain that fell between Monday morning and today. That brings the total for Genoa up to slightly more than half an inch. East Fork Fire Capt. Terry Taylor said it would be very difficult to ignite a fire this week, but next week might be a different matter. The storm is expected to clear out by Friday.

Could see thunderstorms today

There’s a possibility we’ll see scattered thunderstorms today after 11 a.m. Expect mostly cloudy skies with a high temperature of 64 degrees. The chance of precipitation is 40 percent.
