We are humbled by the support we received before, during and after our “Gotta Dance” fundraiser. We sincerely thank all those 250 plus individuals who attended our very successful event. There would never be enough room on this page to express how our hearts are feeling with all the support from the community. All who worked behind the scenes and made it happen, from the beginning till the end were: the planning committee, consisting of Nicole Lewis, Teresa Lundberg, Vicky Lamb and Mary Brady; Jenny Stokes, Craig and Ann Peters from the Dance Workshop who worked many hours in the dance studio; Our dancers, Travis Lee, Taya Wilden, Marie stokes, Scott Smith, Troy Phillips, Gretchen Higgins, Dave Brady, Tracey George, Shannon Harris, Jamie Bratton, Mary Swisher, Trevor Eddings, Michelle Lindsay, Stuart Shipley, Gary Dove, Julie McClain and Jessica Jensen, who worked for dancing dollars; our judges, Linda Gilkerson, Ken Carr and Cary Munk; and Bill McClain of McClain Mobile Music, who not only provided the music but who was our terrific master of ceremonies. Big thanks also to Tracy and Betsy Miner, who filmed the dancers, came to the dance practices and videoed the event. They did more than we could have ever asked! We especially want to thank the staff of The Carson Valley Inn, especially Carrie, who made planning an event so easy; and the Board of Directors, Denise Castle, Tricia Wentz, Jan Garcia, Barry Penzel, Terry Taylor, Greg Rooney, Dave Brady, and Tim Soule, who supported and worked the event. We couldn’t have managed without Patty Snyder, who kept watch on the silent auction, the sponsors and businesses who donated, which included Neddenriep and Associates, Letty Ramos of By Popular Demand, Saletti’s Restaurant & Bar, Monique Reno of Accolades Trophies, 1862 David Walley’s Resort, Steve Bohler from Pinon Pines Realty, David Woodward from Chem Dry, Raley’s, Costco, Gretchen Leigh Photography, Boys and Girls Club, Anytime Fitness, John Fisher of ReMax Realty, Skintonic - Mary Brady, John Raker of State Farm, Bev Anderson of Sunflower Learning Center, Western Title, Battle Born Wine, Dave Brady & Associates, East Fork Professional Firefighters, Edgewood Golf Course, Eric S. Park, D.D.S., Appoggio, Astounding Memories, Buona Sera Ristorante, Bar & Catering, Café Girasole, Katie at Classical Glass and Edna Mross, Coffee on Main, Deena Reagan of Arbonne, Dianne Jennings, East Fork Fire Department, Mike Wentz, Kara’s Hair Skin Nails, Main Street Gardnerville, Marv’s Framing, Max’s Pet Supplies, Miner Pro, and the Dance Workshop. Extra thanks to The Record-Courier for all the coverage and well written stories.
We also want to mention Mark Neddenriep and Steve Castle who counted every dancing dollar and the votes from the judges. You guys sure know all about numbers.
We are committed to our community and will continue to provide education, intervention, prevention and support services to all members of the Carson Valley. Your support will help us do that. We all came together to celebrate life and to encourage those to keep hope in their heart.
Gotta Dance will be back next year for sure in March 2014, so make sure you get your tickets early. If you are an inspiring dancer or want to help us raise dancing dollars, give us a call, you too could be the winner of that shiny disco ball trophy.
