Richard C. Walker was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who is now in Heaven with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Richard was born in Lynden, Washington, on January 30, 1931 he entered eternal life on March 19th 2013, he was 82 years old. He lived in Placerville, Monterey and in South Lake Tahoe for 40 years before moving to the Carson Valley in 1997.
Richard worked for several Tahoe casinos. He was the cashier department manager at Harvey’s, at the time of their infamous bombing. Later he worked for Harrah’s in security and retired from there. In retirement he worked part time for United Coin at the Gardnerville Raley’s in the slot machine area.
Richard is survived by his wife, Gayle, of almost 60 years; two daughters, JoAnne Regan and Suzanne (Rich) Lammay all of Gardnerville. He also leaves behind four grandchildren: David Lammay of Hawaii, Dan (LaNaia) Lammay of Texas, Kristina (Matt) Brimm of Texas and Ryan Regan of Gardnerville. He also has eight great grandchildren all in Texas; two nephews and one niece. He was greatly loved and will be missed by his family and friends.
Richard was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed, hunting, camping, woodcutting, woodworking, family gatherings and Christmas.
Richard was a longtime member of High Sierra Fellowship where there will be a memorial service on April 20th at 1 p.m. High Sierra is located at 1701 Lucerne St. Minden.
