Daniel R. Cary passed away on Armed Forces Day, Saturday, May 17, 2014 in Fairfield, CA. He was born in Oakland, CA on June 22, 1929 to Russell L. and Florence M. (Lake) Cary. Following graduation from Berkeley High School, Berkeley, CA he served in the U. S. Navy on the destroyer U.S.S. Laws as a sonarman during the Korean Conflict. He raised his family in southern California and participated in Boy Scouts of America, Victoria Park Little League and AYSO Soccer. Daniel worked in quality control in the aerospace industry and with his wife Cindy owned and operated his own small restaurant appliance repair business before retiring to Fairfield, CA in 2001. Daniel was predeceased by his parents, sister Ann and brother-in-law Clifton Baker of Sonora, CA. He is survived by his wife Cindy Cary of Fairfield, CA; daughter Linda and husband Gary Miller of Gardnerville, NV; sons Daniel R. Cary, Jr. and wife Erlinda of Las Vegas, NV; Timothy Cary of Gardnerville, NV; Patrick Cary and wife Yocasta of Diamond Bar, CA; Jason Cary and wife Sara of Huntington Beach, CA; step-son Lee Danton and wife Sandy of Murietta, CA and step-son Paul White of Scotts Valley, CA; nieces Cheryl Baker of Tuolumne, CA and Cathy Caudell of Sonora, CA. Mr. Cary was blessed with twelve grandchildren; Gregory, Jennifer, Candace, Emily, Amie, Sara, Cristina, Crystal, Madison, Skyla, Ryan and Charlotte. He was also blessed with eight great-grandchildren; Jazmin, Alexander, Romeo, Juliett, Zeki, Sebastian, Jeremiah and Eren with two more expected later this year. Daniel will be interred at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery in Dixon, CA with full military honors.
