Beatrice Ann Fowler passed from this life at home, in Elmira, OR. on March 4, 2014. She was 87. Bea was born May 11, 1926 to Leslie and Violet Crandall in Okanogan, Washington. She grew up on an apple orchard in Malott, Washington. She picked and thinned apples, built apple boxes, pasked apples and “ate a lot of apples.” She married Delmar Fowler in November of 1942. They moved to Williams lake B.C. in 1953. They built a beautiful log home(the whole family hand peeled the logs) in front of a rock bluff called Signal Point. they joined the Williams Lake trail Riders and made life long friends. Bea helped to put on “Pancake Breakfasts” out of a ‘chuck wagon’. One of which was for England’s, Princess Margaret. Del worked in heavy construction and the kids rode horses (daylight to dark). In the fall of 1959 they moved to Kettle Falls, WA and bought a ranch outside of town. Over her life Bea worked in a photography shop, developing pictures, retouching and restoring photos, as a waitress, and as a bartender. She moved to Beatty, NV (where her daughter lived) in the early 70’s and worked in the wonderful old time casino, the Exchange club! And more great friends! She loved trips to Death Valley (with her camera and the dog, Silly)Then she moved to Gardnerville, NV. Where her daughter and family had moved. She worked in the casino cashiers cage at the Sahara Tahoe at Lake Tahoe, where she became a supervisor and made more good friend. She got to know many famous people and people from all walks of life and all over the world. She loved her job and was very good at it. Her employees thought the world of her. She moved to Elmira, OR. with her daughter in 2000. Bea loved animals of all kinds and donated to many animal charities. But very special to her were her many cats and her Beagle. Bea is survived by her brother Kenneth Crandall of Okanogan, WA., son Michael D. Fowler of Kettle Falls, WA. Daughter Lorna Burnell of Elmira, OR grandchildren Andrea Burnell of Nevada, Adam Fowler of Washington, Brenda and Lisa. Mother, sister, and friend... She will be missed.
