Gordon Robert Campbell (Mr. 5150)

July 3, 1954 - April 23, 2014

Gordon Robert Campbell passed away peacefully on the morning of April 23, 2014 after a long battle with cancer. Gordon was born on July 3, 1954 in Richmond, CA to Gordon and Barbara Campbell. After high school Gordon joined the United States Army, serving in Germany as an Army Medic. Following his service he moved to Northern Nevada and became a father to his two boys Robert and Cliff. At this time he also began his lifelong career as a truck driver first working for his father, long haul driving and Walt Lee Construction. During his time with Walt Lee he met the love of his life Mashelle Begovich. Shortly after Gordon bought his first truck and became owner/operator of GM Trucking which he continued until his passing. Gordon enjoyed many activities such as hunting, drag boat/car racing with his sons. He loved visiting Baja Mexico, deep sea fishing, and spending time on the ocean. The only thing he loved more was spending time with his grandchildren Rowdy (Bubbaroo) and Tilly (Pappas Girl). He is preceded in death by this “Poppi”, Grandma Hazel and his Father Gordon Senior. He is survived by his mother Barbara (Minden), his sister Candace (CA), his sister Coral (CA), his sister Colleen (Gardnerville), love of his life Mashelle Begovich, his son Robert (CA), his son Cliff (Las Vegas), his step daughter Mary, his niece Barbara (CA), and his grandchildren Rowdy Sharkey, and Tilly Lee. As well as two of the best friends a man could have Joe Stella and Kelly Connolly among many others. A celebration of life will be held May 16, 2014 at 10am at the Carson Valley United Methodist Church. Thanks to all the good friends and good times. While Gordon’s time here was short, he made the best of it. Rest in peace big man, We Love You!
