George Manuel Frager Sr

April 5, 1932 - March 1, 2014

George Manuel Frager, Sr., 81, of Gardnerville, NV passed away on Saturday, March 1, 2014 at Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center following a brief illness.

George was born April 5, 1932 in Livermore, CA and resided in Pleasanton, CA until 1973. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He was self-employed in the construction business and a lifelong heavy equipment operator. He was an active member of the Operating Engineers Local Union No. 3 for many years. George moved his family to the Carson Valley in 1973 where he lived until his death. He loved living south of Gardnerville in his home with a beautiful view of the Carson Valley, Pinenut and Sierra Nevada mountains; as well as feeding the quail, songbirds and rabbits in his yard. He was an avid hunter and fisherman throughout his life. He enjoyed watching golf, spending time with his family and friends, and helping out his neighbors however he could.

George is preceded in death by his mother, Irene Coughlin; father, Manuel Frager Jr.; stepmother, Mildred Frager; and brother Charles Frager; as well as his beloved dog, “Suzie”.

George is survived by his wife, Lois Watson; sister, Jackie Partain; son, George Frager Jr., and his wife Katy; daughters, Sandy Ryan, and her husband Rich; Caren Witt, and her husband Craig. He is also survived by his seven grandchildren whom he loved; Jenifer Davidson, and her husband Ryan; Cody Witt; Melissa Frager; Richie Ryan; Connor Witt; Kelsey Ryan and Colton Witt. Also surviving George are loving nieces, nephews and a host of long-time friends.

The family would like to express their gratitude to all the physicians, nurses, and CNA’s that cared for our father during the last four months.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 14, 2014 at 2:00 pm at FitzHenry’s Carson Valley Funeral Home, 1380 HWY 395, Gardnerville, NV 89410.

A private family interment will be held at a later date.
