Power has been restored in Carson Valley after an equipment failure at the Buckeye Substation shut down power to 3,280 residents.
The outage knocked out traffic lights along Highway 395 at Waterloo Lane and Gilman Lane Monday afternoon.
NV Energy Spokesman Karl Walquist said the 120,000-volt transmission line that feeds the Buckeye Substation was out, affecting four distribution lines serving Carson Valley.
The outage began at 12:40 p.m. and affected customers in the east side of the Valley, from Clapham Lane east to East Valley Road. Among larger customers affected were GE.
Service was restored at 2:13 p.m.
