The R-C Morning Report for Aug. 21

Consolidation of the county’s three Lake Tahoe water systems along with their new rates are before Douglas County commissioners’ at their regular meeting today. They’ve set aside an hour for the discussion.

The ice bucket challenge comes to Gardnerville tonight during the Thirsty Third Thursday Wine Walk. Taking the challenge is KBUL DJ Bob Richards and Gardnerville Town Manager Tom Dallaire at the KBUL remote at the Country Carousel 5:30-6 p.m.

A fire weather watch goes into effect Friday morning due to gusty winds and low humidity across northwest Nevada. If the forecast holds, expect the red flag to go up 11 a.m. Friday.

Today will be sunny with a high of 87 degrees. The wind will be out of the west at 5-10 mph.
