Winds knock out power to Topaz Ranch Estates

High winds knocked out power to about 200 NV Energy customers in Topaz Ranch Estates for most of the morning.

Power company spokesman Calder Chism said power was restored in the community around 1 p.m.

Wind gusts of up to 50 mph were recorded in Gardnerville on Saturday morning. Sustained winds of more than 20 mph with regular gusts of more than 40 mph were reported through the day.

More than an inch of rain fell in Gardnerville from the latest rain storm, according to the National Weather Service.

Minden received .86 inches as of Saturday morning.
