County commissioners will undergo the formality of levying the tax rates for the various districts in Douglas County for the next fiscal year 4:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Douglas County Administrative Building, 1616 Eighth St. If the whole meeting takes 10 minutes, it will be because someone said the Pledge of Allegiance very, very slowly.
A 24-year-old Gardnerville man who admitted to trafficking in methamphetamine and allowing his children to be present during a drug transaction faces a minimum of three years in prison if his sentences run concurrently. Roberto Rodriquez faces a maximum penalty of up to 30 years if the judge runs them consecutively.
Rain is likely today, though I haven’t seen any sign of moisture falling in the Valley so far today. National Weather Service radar shows it’s mostly hitting north toward Reno. Today expect a high temperature of 68 degrees, breezy with a southwest wind 10-20 mph, gusting to 30 mph, and a 70 percent chance of precipitation.
