The Dangberg Home Ranch Historic Park is once more in the final round of a statewide competition, this time with the Wilbur D. May Center in Reno. Last year the home ranch beat out the Thunderbird Lodge at Lake Tahoe as a Nevada Commission on Tourism treasure in the Reno-Tahoe region. Smoke from the 14,147-acre Aspen fire burning near Mammoth Pool Reservoir on the San Joaquin River will continue to pour into Western Nevada over the next few days thanks to southwest winds.
Nevada Highway Patrol troopers are helping a motorist at Highway 395 and Cradlebaugh Bridge in northern Carson Valley this morning. Keep an eye out during the commute.
Today’s weather will be sunny and relatively cool, with a forecast high temperature of 88 degrees, and the wind out of the west at 5-15 mph. A fire weather watch goes into effect on Thursday for high winds and low humidity.
