The former Eagle Gas Station may be a lot more valuable for what could go under it than what’s standing on the service. Gardnerville Town Manager Tom Dallaire told members of the town board on Tuesday that installing flood control structures under the property could go a long way toward making Highway 395 passable in a 10-year-flood.
Minden is being asked to accept 136.8 acre feet of surface water rights in exchange for a future connection fee credit for 30.54 single family homes in La Costa. Minden Town Board meets 5:30 p.m. today in the CVIC Hall.
We had a 1.5 and a 1 magnitude earthquake this morning on the west shore of Topaz Lake. The 1.5 hit at 5:27 a.m. The smaller quake hit at 1:51 a.m.
The county will be conducting an overlay on a portion of East Valley Road from Pinenut Road to Jo Lane today. Expect delays through there during the day.
It’s warm out this morning with 61 degrees. We may see some thunderstorms before noon today. The smoke is still casting a pall over the Carson Valley. It rained, like, 100 drops in Gardnerville on Tuesday evening, with a couple of lightning strikes. No sign of any fires so far.
